My ipsy Glam Bag: July 2015

Hello lovelies!  This is my second ipsy bag (you can see my first here) and I am so excited about everything I got!  I am not the biggest fan of the bag but it’s a great size for a day makeup bag.  This months theme was Summer Lovin’ (who else started singing Summer Loving from Grease?!).  Let’s get started!

Cost: $10.00 per month, free shipping

The rewards: By picking your favorite item, reviewing each item, reviewing the box as a whole, and referring friends, you can earn points to spend on full-sized products!  Some of these include lipsticks (1000 points), makeup brushes (500 points), and the options change all the time!  There’s also a page with offers that has full-size products for a lower price than what you would pay in a store!

So here’s the deal: “With infinite beauty product combinations in the marketplace, choosing the best items for your needs can be a challenge! That was why Michelle Phan created ipsy. Michelle and her team of stylists have selected products they love, for you to try.  Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.” – ipsy

What’s Inside:

Jelly Pong Cosmetics 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner in Bronze, $16.00 (Full Size)

IMG_5706

This is a 100% cruelty-free, long lasting eye crayon/liner.  It’s a beautiful metallic brown and it glides on so smooth!  It lasted quite long as an eyeliner but I haven’t tried it as a shadow yet (it’s today’s makeup venture) but it seems to blend really well on my hand so I’ll be looking forward to trying it!  This will be great with my golden eyes when I want a softer eyeliner shade, not such a harsh black.

Eau Thermale Avene Clearane Gel Soapless Cleanser, $2.49
15% off Eau Thermale Avene on drugstore.com with the code IPSYAVENE

IMG_5709

This is a gluten- and cruelly-free soapless cleanser for oily, acne-prone skin.  I can’t use this on my skin because it will totally wreck my skin care routine but I might use it on my body just to test it out before I hand it over to my sister.  It is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic but you never know how your skin will react to something new.  It has a light, fresh scent and it is a thin gel formula.

City Color Cosmetics HD Powder, $3.42

This loose powder is incredibly smooth and prevents shine.  This is a white powder so make sure to avoid it for any flash photography!  I noticed that although this was crazy thin and smooth, it kept oil at bay for hours without changing the color of my foundation!

Octavio Molina Hair La Playa Salt Spray, $7.50
Receive 30% off and free shipping with the code ipsy&octavio at octaviomolinahair.com

This is a multi-purpose salt spray, you can use it wet for more volume and texture, you can use it dry for movement and texture, or you can use it on your roots and blow dry for awesome volume!  Ipsy does a great job with animal friendly products, this is also 100% cruelty free.  It also is half the regular size which is enough for me with all the products I’m sampling!  Most salt sprays are very thick but this one is not like most, it is a bit thinner to give a more natural look than the glue feeling of some.

bellapierre cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in P.I.N.K, $19.99 (Full Size)
Use the code IPSYLIPS2015 for 25% off any order at bellapierre.com

This is a super moisturizing, very pigmented lipstick with no animal products! Yay!  It lasts longer than most lipsticks and is an amazing summer color!  I am a lipstick addict so I was thrilled to see this full-size lipstick in my bag this month!

Total: $49.40

Swatches of the bellapierre mineral lipstick in P.I.N.K and jelly pong pong 2-in-1 shadow/liner in Bronze.

The value of this box always amazes me, nearly $50 for $10 is a great deal and I’m very happy with my switch to ipsy from Birchbox!  I think my favorite items were the lipstick and the shadow/liner because I use them all the time.  I will definitely use the powder and salt spray, but the only thing I didn’t like was the cleanser.  Overall, I’m really happy with this bag, if you want to sign up, you can do so here.

What did you get in your ipsy bag?  Let me know!

xoxo
