Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit: Ghost 2019 Holiday Palette

For the Sephora VIB salethis fall I used my gift card to pick up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Holiday Edit. I went in store and I was in love with the colors and the formula but the packaging bothers me. The clear frosty plastic does not feel worth $80 but the weighty metal cover make it a little better. I was so disappointed to see a plastic package for this palette since past ones have been beautiful metal. It looks a little dirty now that I’ve been using it for a while; it’s not as easy to wipe down as the metal.

This palette includes 2 of the Ambient Lighting Powders in Dim Light and Diffused Light, an Ambient Strobe Light in Iridescent Light, an Ambient Bronze Light in Eternal Light, and two blush shades in Iridescent Rose and Sublime Flush. These shades are geared towards lighter skin tones while some of the past palettes have been deeper shades. This one has been my favorite selection of shades for my skin tone. I’ve always wanted to have Dim Light and Diffused Light to use as a daily finishing powder. I love the bronze shade and the fact that there’s a warm and cool toned blush for different looks.

The powders are unbelievably smooth and blend together so well. I can easily use 5/6 of the powders on my face every day because they are easy to wear every day but are also perfect for more special occasions. I don’t use the Strobe Light that often because I tend to go for a cream highlighter. The one Hourglass powder I already own in Incandescent Light is nearly identical to this one.

While this palette is very high in price, I use it so often that it’s been worth it for me. For travel it’s perfect to have one palette to bring for powder, blush, bronzer, and highlighter. Hourglass releases one of these every holiday season but until then, they have tons of shades in this formula sold individually and as a trio.
